In Memoriam: Anne 'Chyke' Skirmantas

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and cherished newest member of the Stunt Kitty Films family, Anne "Chyke" Skirmantas. Her sudden passing after a brief illness came as a shock to all who loved her.

A friendship spanning over thirty years, grounded in a shared passion for theater and film, Chyke appeared alongside Stunt Kitty veterans Ken MacFarlane and Debra Roventini. Ken directed her in numerous plays over the years.

When our original casting plans for the web series THE PORTAL fell apart during the Covid pandemic, Chyke and her husband, Peter Skirmantas, gamely stepped in without hesitation — turning what could have been a production disaster into a moment of pure perfection and kismet. Chyke's Lithuanian heritage, combined with her and Peter's experience in Eastern European countries, brought depth and humanity to characters that were admittedly flat on the page. The genuine chemistry and love between Chyke and Peter shone through in their scenes, where they portrayed siblings confined together during lockdown.

Beyond acting, Chyke's background as a production and stage manager proved invaluable during our lockdown production, where performers were asked to "stage manage" their own scenes — hers were impeccable.
